...
It comes out that coming of new year is something similar to national disaster after which:
- there are no newspapers
- shelves in the shops are empty (even no bread, not speaking about smoked salmon or cherry tomatoes; it reminds me of Soviet times when one had to take what was available and not what was desired)
- no Terevisioon
- no reasonable food in the canteen
Next year I'll try to be smarter, and before year change I will stock up buy suhari, pasta and canned tomatoes to survive.

Similar effect in Lithuanin shops as well. Shelves were half empty. I couldn't find my favourite "Karums" things. But this was corrected the next day, when supply chains of all retailers were filled with fresh produce again. Ah...long live commercionalization!
Oh, Tadas!!! Good to see that you're alive :))) Yepp, we have become too picky and commercialized. But the thing is that I went to shop on 2nd January (no hope for anything on 31 Dec or 1 Jan), but even then it was empty. Unplanned and therefore a disaster for me (being great planner and a little bit pedantic as I am)
Shelves in the store in Latvia on the 2nd January were quite well stocked, especially with the "Karums"! :)
